The
Wrong Path Taken
Presented by Pamela Montambo
After the death of her 19 year old son to a drug overdose,
Pam Montambo has been a speaker to teens and parents on the dangers of drugs. The story of her son’s life and death reveal that all children, even good ones, are at risk for drug use.
Pam currently speaks as part of the Brian P. Mattson Restorative Justice Center’s Substance Abuse Impact Panel. She has also been part of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Awareness Festival. Both being in Muskegon County, Michigan. Her son’s story is part of the DEA’s traveling exhibit, “Target America”, and is also one of 40 stories featured in the book, “I am Your Disease: The Many Faces of Addiction”.
Pam’s hour long presentation is for all ages and is combined with a two hour workshop for parents. The workshop gives parents tools that may be needed to become the best “anti-drug” they can be. It teaches about the drugs that their children are exposed to and how to better monitor what their children are doing. It also teaches parents where and what to look for in the event they choose to search for drugs. The workshop also stresses the importance of having parent support groups in their community.
The presentation is free. A cost of $5.00 per parent is requested if attending the workshop. This only offsets the cost of literature the parents will be receiving. Please call Pam at 231-301-1245 or e-mail her at TheWrongPathTaken@inbox.com
for any questions or to set up a time for your school or group to host this informative presentation and workshop.
